Hire terms and conditions
These terms apply to all equipment hire from SoundStar. They're written to be read, not to catch anyone out. If anything isn't clear, ask before you book.
1. Booking
A booking is confirmed when we've agreed the date, the package and the price in writing, and the deposit has been paid. Until then the date isn't held.
2. Payment
A deposit of 30% confirms the booking. The balance is due before the event. We accept bank transfer and cash.
3. Cancellation
If you cancel more than 7 days before the event, the deposit is refunded in full. If you cancel within 7 days of the event, the deposit is retained. If we have to cancel for reasons within our control, you get everything back in full.
4. Delivery and collection
Prices include delivery, setup and breakdown within our coverage area. Access, parking and floor level affect the time we need — tell us about them when you book so the quote is right. Collection is at the time agreed when booking.
5. Access and power
You're responsible for making sure we can get into the venue at the agreed time, and that mains power is available unless we've agreed otherwise.
6. The equipment
The equipment stays ours throughout the hire. It's set up by us and shouldn't be moved, opened or rewired by anyone else. You're responsible for it from setup until collection, and for any loss or damage beyond normal use — capped at £500 per booking.
7. Sound limiters and venue rules
Where a venue has a sound limiter or a noise restriction, we'll set the system to work within it. We can't be responsible for a venue cutting the power or enforcing its own curfew.
8. Insurance and liability
We hold public liability insurance and our equipment is PAT tested. Certificates are available on request for your venue. We're not liable for losses outside our reasonable control.
9. Your details
We use what you send us on the enquiry form only to quote for and run your booking. We don't sell it or pass it on.
